01

Strategic Planning

Working with your Board of Directors and Senior Management, Long-Term Care Solutions of NY can assist in setting a path for the future. Where does the organization see itself in five years? What services should you be offering? Are there programs that are no longer viable? This is extremely important if a seasoned administrator is planning to retire. Boards should have a plan for the administrators’ departure and the onboarding of a replacement.

03

Temporary Administrator Services

One of the biggest challenges a facility faces is turnover in administrators. Long-Term Care Solutions of NY will provide supervision to an acting administrator and, if need be, assist the Board in the search process for a new leader.

02

Functionality of Management

Poor Department of Health surveys are sometimes due to a lack of knowledge and training on the part of staff. More often than not, that is only a symptom of a bigger problem. We will look at the root cause of the deficiencies. Often it is due to poor communication and at times management not providing adequate leadership. Long-Term Care Solutions of NY will provide recommendations involving systemic changes to correct long-standing issues identified as part of a comprehensive review by Long-Term Care Solutions of NY.

04

Identification of Fiscal Challenges

Skilled nursing facilities are facing unprecedented challenges in retaining fiscal viability. Staffing costs are rising while reimbursement is not. Long-Term Care Solutions of NY will identify what is driving your revenue and expenses. Is revenue being maximized, are accounts receivable at industry norms and are programs offered profitable and sustainable?

Construction and Renovation Oversight

Throughout his career, Mike Keenan has supervised renovations and construction at all levels. Mike has extensive experience working with Investment Bankers,  Architects, Feasibility Consultants, Construction firms, Banks, and Bond Counsels in regards to expansions. From design to financial feasibility to actual financing and construction, Mike has overseen the following projects:

Renovations at Hilltop Retirement Community included a dedicated Dementia Unit, new Chapel, Medical Office Suites, and Resident Gift Store.

Creation of a private dedicated Rehab Unit at Good Shepherd Fairview Home and a 32-bed Assisted Living Program residence.

The $79 million project included the design, financing, construction, marketing, and move-ins of Good Shepherd Village at Endwell. This project included 74 cottages, 80 apartments, a 30,000-square-foot Village Center as well as a 32-bed Assisted Living Facility, and a 32-bed skilled nursing facility.

Worked with Lourdes Hospital on the renovation of a former school in New Berlin, NY to provide Medical Offices. This $750,000 project brought Medical Services to a community that hadn’t had providers for years.

The conceptual design of a replacement Nursing Home for Chase Memorial Nursing Home in Chenango County, NY. In addition, we secured an $8 million transformation grant to use as the equity contribution.

Refinancing of Good Shepherd Village at Endwell utilizing Local Development Agency funding that also included a $15 million campus renovation.

Let Long-Term Care Solutions guide you into the future with a healthy organizational plan.

Milestones

Mike has been responsible for strategic planning throughout his career. Mike was one of the first individuals to participate in the Medicare Case Mix Demonstration project in the 1990s.
